What if...

What if... the blink of a wrinkle in time meant that two of the greatest lyricists of our time collaborated on one for the road together? Alex Turner x Taylor Swift would be one of the most interesting fusions in modern poetry.

I have always appreciated Turner's lyricism and often compared him to a modern day poetry great. Recently, my appreciation for Swift's lyricism has grown in much the same way.

Both have a unique approach to writing: Turner is much more analogical and abstract, whereas Swift I would consider to be more anecdotal with some clever play-on words and literary techniques used throughout.

I have decided to write a mini-series to explore the writing styles of both. For the next few posts, we will uncover a detailed break-down comparison of the two very different songwriters, dig deep into some of their best work, and ultimately conclude what could really happen if the two should ever collaborate.
