Revels

When you open up a bag of Revels, everyone knows what they want: some of the chocolates are obvious, and others are a lucky dip. An unusual analogy, but I would go as far to compare a bag of Revels to some of my favourite musical collaborations.

Chocolate Coffee: some days you love it, some days you don't - this one is all dependant on the mood.

The time Blossoms and Rick Astley performed the songs of The Smiths was interesting to say the least. It is something completely out of the box, yet it seems to work so perfectly. As with any tracks by 'The Smiths', I have to be in the right mood, but something about seeing two very successful artists at different points in their careers come together to celebrate another, was a truly beautiful moment.

Chocolate Raisin: it shouldn't work, but it does.

Temptation Greets You Like Your Naughty Friend - Arctic Monkeys and Dizzee Rascal.

The first time I heard this, all I can say I felt was confusion closely followed by an utterance of the word 'genius'. It truly has it all: young Arctic Monkey's vibrant indie nature and raw vocals, combined with an entirely different genre of music to form a piece that does not get the credit it truly deserves.

Chocolate: a classic.

Islands In The Stream - Kenny Rodgers and Dolly Parton (later by Nessa and Uncle Bryn).

I've always been a fan of this song, especially the version by the Bee Gees, but nothing will ever come close to the original. A gorgeous duet filled with so much love, yet now has so many memories attached of all genres for many people: a perfect example of a true classic.

Chocolate Malteaser: a playful twist on a firm favourite.

Bad Habits - Ed Sheeran x Bring Me The Horizon.

I remember watching the Brit Awards on TV and out of seemingly nowhere, Ollie Sykes and the crew showed up to join Ed Sheeran: exceptionally confused, delighted and completely astonished, once I had wrapped my head around it, this is now one of my all time favourite tracks. No words can do this justice.

Chocolate Toffee: not the one you were anticipating, but a welcome surprise.

Volcano - The Vamps x Silento. Another surprising one for me, but even more so was when Tristan ventured out from behind the drum kit on tour to rap Silento's part...

Chocolate Orange: the one you've been searching for.

End Game - Taylor Swift x Ed Sheeran x Future.

The perfect combination: refreshing, energetic, passionate, lyrically genius ... and Taylor Swift. This song really does have it all. What better way to enhance a revenge album than to feature one of your best friends on one of the tracks too?
